If you’ve always wanted to journey through the winter forest after dark, a guided night snowshoe hike at Scenic Caves Nordic in Blue Mountain might just be the thing. Along with snowshoes, you’ll strap on a headlamp that will light your way through the woods filled with majestic 100 foot-high trees. The four-kilometer trek takes anywhere from an hour-and-a-half to two hours and is nothing short of magical. Stops along the way include Lookout Point, the highest spot on the Niagara Escarpment, for a breathtaking evening view and Ontario’s longest Suspension bridge where you’ll survey the sparkling lights of the villages below. Nighttime wildlife sightings are part of it too, with raccoons, deer, rabbits, porcupine and snowy owls often making an appearance. Hikes run every Saturday night from now up to March 17.
