How to attract butterflies

What better time than now to imagine your summer garden at Georgian Sands? And what an opportunity to consider planting some pollinator-friendly plants around your new home once it’s ready! Wasaga Beach is in gardening zone 5a which means certain plants will do better than others. To attract butterflies and hummingbirds, invest in a fragrant flowering buddleia also known as a butterfly bush. Butterflies need nectar for food and host plants to lay their eggs. For Monarch butterflies, a combination of Black-eyed Susans or goldenrod for nectar and milkweed as host plants would be ideal. Hummingbirds love red and purple hollyhocks, coral bells and summer phlox. Help pollinators thrive!
