Sainte Marie Among the Hurons opens

Did you know that a world-renowned recreation of the first European community in Ontario is  just a short drive from Georgian Sands? Sainte Marie Among the Hurons in Midland, opens this Saturday, May 5. Travel back in time to 1639 as you tour the recreated barracks, church, workshops and residences of the Jesuit mission to the Huron Wendat nation. There’s an interpretive museum, a restaurant featuring traditional Canadian cuisine and a gift shop.  Special events from a lacrosse tournament to a First Light festival to a culinary feast are planned this year.
