Stroll along a Meaford street in September and you’ll notice some strangely dressed figures smiling broadly at you. There’s nothing to worry about. They’re the scarecrows who are normally found in farmers’ fields but instead who have taken up posts around town. The townsfolk know that this happens at harvest time every year. This year, the scarecrows have gone for a western look, as the town holds an old-fashioned hoedown tonight at Meaford Hall and a parade and family festival on Friday night, September 28. Come and join in the fun. Meaford is under an hour away from Georgian Sands.
