Simcoe County Museum

Imagine walking down a Main Street from the 1900s? Spending time in a Wendat longhouse? Or learning to bake bread in an outdoor oven? Simcoe County Museum is the place to visit for a trip into the storied past of an area stretching from Lake Simcoe west to Georgian Bay and north to Muskoka. With multiple galleries, 10 historic relocated buildings that include an 1834 log home, and a reproduction of Barrie’s turn-of-the-century Main Street, the Museum offers visitors an unforgettable experience. Youngsters, take note. Right now March Break camps are in full swing. Next up is a Pioneer Kids Club slated for Saturdays in April. The Museum is located on Highway 26 in Minesing, only a short drive from Georgian Sands.
