Saturday the maple syrup flows! Just a short drive from Georgian Sands, an epic Southern Georgian Bay festival takes place in Elmvale, next door to Wasaga Beach. Fifty-four years old, the festival now draws thousands. A midway kicks off the fun this Friday night. Sugarbush tours display the technique of gathering precious maple sap and transforming it into syrup. Over 250 vendors set up shop along festival streets and in the Elmvale arena. Live music and performance happen on the main stage, while log-sawing and pancake eating contests delight the crowds. And of course, gallons of maple syrup are poured at the busy pancake house throughout the day. Don’t miss this once-a-year extravaganza!
