This weekend, something very special happens in Midland at historic Sainte-Marie among the Hurons. The unique 17th century French Jesuit mission settlement celebrates First Light with a spectacular line-up of family activities and performance, bathed in the glow of over 5000 candles. Wander candlelit paths to the sound of indigenous drumming or Franco Ontario folk singing. Watch demonstrations of traditional blacksmithing, try your hand at corn husk doll making, sample delicious baked goods and browse artisanal wares. Enjoy this unique holiday experience at 16164 Highway 12 in Midland. Hours are Thursday, December 5 through Saturday, December 7, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
