How were roads once cut through the wilderness? Start your engines and head to Simcoe County Museum for one of the largest displays of working vintage construction equipment in Canada. Ride out to the gravel pits on a “people mover” for a tour. See live demonstrations of steam-powered machinery, vintage road building, rock crushing, grading, hoisting and other techniques that our ancestors used to carve settlements out of the land. Every year the museum powers up some of the heritage equipment on the grounds for a “last blast” before winter. It’s guaranteed to delight everyone’s inner child! 1151 Highway 26, Minesing, just a short drive from Georgian Sands. Saturday, Oct.13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
